
Radha Shyamasundar Temple
History:-
Vrindavan is famous destination as Krishna and Radha adolesnce phase. Vrindavan name is associated with Brinda Devi also known as Tulsi. Sri Radha Shyamasundar temple is one of the seven main temples of Gaudiya Vaishnavas and located near Shri Radhan Damodar Temple. There are three presiding deities at temple- Shri Radha Shyamsundar at Centre, Sri Sri Lala-Lalee at right while at left Sri Sri Radha Kunjbihari ji.
Things to do at Shri Radha ShyamSundar Temple
This Krishna temple in Vrindavan is very popular because of the devotion of Sri Shyamananda prabhu to Sri Krishna and Radha. This idol is worshipped as Lala ji in the temple. The small Radharani idol (Lali ji) was brought by the King of Bharatpur, who found it in his treasury. The temple also has the idols of Sri Radha-Kunjbihari. They were found in Nandgram by Sri Brajajanand Dev Goswami. You will find the samadhi of Shri Shyamanand Prabhu opposite to the entrance door of temple.
In the centre, you will find the bigger idols of Srimati Radharani and Sri Shyam Sundar which are carved out and installed by Baladeva Vidyabhusana. It has a large open area with a marble stage where several events get organized by temple time to time. The temple receives a huge pilgrim on the auspicious day of Basant Panchami. This day is celebrated as marriage day of Shri Shyam Sundar and Radharani. Apart from this, Holi and Jhulan yatra are two important dates when temples get decorated and adorned.
History Behind the Radhashyam Ji Temple
The temple was established by Sri Syamananda Pandit to whom the deity was gifted by Srimati Radharani manifested from her heart. The unique and transcendental Deity gifted to him by Srimati Radharani got famous as Shyamsundar and He will continue to give darshan and liberate the conditioned souls. From the childhood, he was impressed with devotional songs of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Due to deeply devoted in krishna love, he had been seen laughing, crying, and dancing. He felt the magical aroma of his deity in air of Vrindavan, so he glorified Shri Vrindavan Dham as the topmost adobe of Lord in universe. After having darshan of Sri RadhaRani, he felt blessed.
Untold Story of Shri Shyamsundar
Shri Shyamsundar is known for his divine play and miracles in Hindu mythology. Born in a small village, his childhood was marked by extraordinary events. Legends tell of his mischievous yet endearing nature, captivating the hearts of all who encountered him. Shyamsundar's divine flute melodies echoed through the sacred groves, enchanting both humans and animals alike.
As he grew, tales of his miraculous deeds spread far and wide. Shyamsundar's compassion knew no bounds, and he selflessly helped those in need. The village flourished under his benevolent gaze, and devotees flocked to seek his blessings. His radiant blue complexion symbolized the infinite vastness of the cosmos. One of the most revered stories recounts his eternal love for Radha, the epitome of devotion. There is a famous story behind his spiritual enlightment achieved in Seva kunj. Once he was working the chores of seva kunj and watch Gopis, Krishna, and Radha dancing together. In the flow, an anklet of Radha fallen and found by him. Next day Dasi of Radha Rani came in disguised form to Seva Kunj to find the anklet and then Shri Shyamsundar wanted a favour to meet Radha Rani and return her thing. After a humble request, Radha Rani shown her divine form to Krishna Das and narrated her previous birth story. Impresses with his bhakti, Radha Rani gifted her a tilak on forehead, given him a new name of Kanak Manjari. She manifested the most beautiful and unique Deity of Sri Shyamsundar from her lotus heart and gave to Kanak Manjari through Lalita Sakhi. Their divine love story, celebrated in art and poetry, transcends mortal understanding. Shyamsundar's teachings emphasized love, righteousness, and the path to spiritual enlightenment.
