Mansi Ganga is a sacred lake situated in Govardhan town, near Govardhan Hill in Uttar Pradesh, India.
It lies in the heart of the Govardhan Parikrama Marg and is one of the most important pilgrimage spots in Braj.
📖 Historical & Mythological Significance
The name Mansi means “from the mind.”
According to scriptures:
Once Nanda Maharaj wanted to go to the River Ganga for a holy bath.
Lord Krishna, to save him from traveling far, manifested the River Ganga from His mind.
Thus, this sacred lake was named Mansi Ganga.
It is believed that taking bath here gives the same spiritual benefit as bathing in the River Ganga.
