📍 Location
Kusum Sarovar is a beautiful and sacred reservoir located near Govardhan Hill, about 25 km from Mathura and close to Radha Kund in Uttar Pradesh, India.
It lies on the Govardhan Parikrama Marg and is one of the most peaceful and scenic spots in Braj.
📖 Historical & Spiritual Significance
The word “Kusum” means flowers.
According to Braj tradition:
Srimati Radharani and her sakhis used to come here to collect flowers for worship.
Lord Krishna would meet Radharani here during flower pastimes (Kusum Leela).
This place is connected with the loving pastimes of Radha and Krishna.
Kusum Sarovar is therefore considered a very intimate and sweet pastime place (Madhurya Leela Sthal).
🏛️ Architectural Beauty
The present structure of Kusum Sarovar was built in the 18th century by the Jat rulers of Bharatpur.
