Danghati Temple is located in Govardhan town, at the base of the sacred Govardhan Hill in Uttar Pradesh, India.

It lies near Mansi Ganga and is one of the main starting points of Govardhan Parikrama (21 km).


📖 Meaning of “Daan Ghati”
  • “Daan” means tax or donation

  • “Ghati” means narrow passage or valley

According to Braj tradition:

Lord Krishna used to stop Srimati Radharani and the gopis in this narrow path and demand “daan” (toll tax) when they carried milk, butter, and curd to Mathura.

This playful pastime is known as Daan Leela.
