📍 Location

Bhandirvan is one of the twelve sacred forests (Dwadash Van) of Braj. It is located near Yamuna River, about 15 km from Vrindavan and close to Mant area in district Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, India.

💍 Why It Is Called Krishna Vivah Sthal?

Bhandirvan is famous as the divine marriage place of Radha and Krishna.

According to Braj tradition and scriptures:

  • One day, during childhood pastimes, Krishna and Srimati Radharani were present in Bhandirvan.

  • At that time, Lord Brahma appeared.

  • Brahma performed the sacred marriage ceremony (Vivah) of Radha and Krishna under a large banyan tree.

  • This divine wedding took place secretly in the spiritual realm.

This sacred banyan tree is known as Bhandir Vat.
